Fernbank Youth Interpreters

Thank you for your interest in supporting Fernbank as a volunteer! We have temporarily suspended our onsite* volunteer roles in an effort to minimize contact among staff, volunteers, members and guests. To receive notice when the program resumes, please contact us at Volunteer@FernbankMuseum.org.

The Fernbank Youth Interpreters volunteer program, also known as the FYI program, is an opportunity for youth ages 13-17 to be directly involved in public events and education at Fernbank Museum. FUN volunteers must commit to the program for a minimum of one year and provide a minimum of 45 hours of service to the museum.

FYI volunteers run discovery carts, sharing information about biology, archaeology, paleontology, and more with visitors of all ages. They also help with educational activities at special family events, summer camp, other special projects, and have opportunities to tour and visit behind the scenes.

NOTE: We are no longer accepting applications for the 2020-2021 FYI program. Information on the 2021-2022 application process will be available in February 2021.
