Flora, Fauna & Flight

March 23, 2024 - June 23, 2024

Discover how plants and animals defy gravity through flight in this artistic outdoor exhibit along the nature walkways in WildWoods.

A variety of colorful and photo-inspiring sculptures of birds, bees, dragonflies, butterflies, dandelions, cattails, flying fish, bats and more highlight the native flora and fauna of our region while showcasing their ability to fly or glide.

Along the way, you’ll learn about the properties of flight, how plants and animals have evolved to fly, how their physical traits support the ability to soar through the air, and more.

Exhibit Highlights

  • Explore the difference between gliding and flying, including how plants and animals use these actions to avoid predators, spread their seeds and more.
  • Pose, snap and share photos in front of larger-than-life photo ops, featuring butterflies and bats.
  • Discover the physics of flight—lift, thrust and drag— as you marvel at the adaptations and unique features of plants and animals that can defy gravity.
  • See vibrant plant and animal sculptures among the native trees, grasses, plants, flowers and water of WildWoods.

Cost: Included with general admission, free for members and free with CityPASS.
