A JUNE-ique Month at Fernbank

Fernbank has a mirror-acculous lineup this June full of exciting exhibits, events, films and more.

A ROARING GOOD TIME — Premiering June 21 is a new film in the Giant Screen Theater: T. REX in 3D. Go on an unforgettable journey in today’s sweeping north America badlands as you rediscover the tyrant lizard king; With groundbreaking revolutions in tyrannosaur paleontology over the past 25 years and computer-generated imagery, the time has come to revisit the T. rex.

Learn more about the film here.

AFTER-HOURS ACCESS — Explore a night at the museum when you attend one of our two after-hours events! Fernbank After Dark: Fear Factor is Friday, June 14 and for adults only (21+). Fernbank... but Later: Naturally aMAZEing is Friday, June 28 and for all ages. Enjoy full museum access, light bites and drinks, experiments, activities and more at both events.

ARTISTIC OUTDOORS — WildWoods will be home to two different artistic exhibits this month. First, make sure to see Flora, Fauna & Flight before it leaves June 23 and learn about how plants and animals defy gravity through colorful sculptures. Then, walk alongside larger-than-life metal sculptures of foxes, rabbits, flowers and more in Forest Forms starting June 29.

MULTIPLY YOUR FUN — To celebrate the grand opening A Mirror Maze: Numbers in Nature, we’re hosting Patterns at Play from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. on June 8, a Discovery Day designed to complement our newest exhibit. Participate in crafts and activities like creating a suncatcher, playing with light and prisms, and making your own air-dry fossils at this event. See all the activities here.

AN ENCHANTING EXHIBIT — The crown jewel of this month is when our latest temporary exhibit, A Mirror Maze: Numbers in Nature, opens on June 8. Immerse yourself in this exhibit all about the patterns naturally occurring in the world through digital components, real artifacts and a 1,700 square-foot mirror maze. Then, when you’re looking for some more fun with patterns and puzzles, here are a few ideas for you.

Escape Rooms | Around Atlanta
