It’s June and Fernbank Has So Much to Do!
Summer is finally here, and Fernbank is excited to kick off the season with a full roster of exciting exhibits, events, films and more.
TURTLE-LY AWESOME – The highlight of June is our new exhibit, Turtles! This exhibit is all about the lives and behaviors of these beloved reptiles and features live turtles. Celebrate the exhibit’s grand opening on June 7 with the Discovery Day, A Turtle Shell-ebration.
A PEACEFUL START – For those looking for a quieter museum experience, check out our Sensory Morning on June 21. These mornings are designed for neurodivergent individuals and their families, providing early access to the museum for a calmer visit and a sensory-friendly experience.
AFTER HOURS – Enjoy the summer nights with one of our evening events. Those 21 and older can attend Fernbank After Dark: H2-oh! on June 13 and seas the day to learn more about water. Then, those of all ages can come to Fernbank... but LATER: Grand Slam Science on June 27 and meet guests from some of your favorite Atlanta teams.
SUPER DOGS ON THE SILVER SCREEN – Returning to the Giant Screen Theater is a Fernbank favorite: Superpower Dogs! Premiering June 28, you can watch man’s best friend save lives alongside their human partners in six true and incredible stories narrated by Chris Evans.
GET OUTSIDE – This month is National Great Outdoors Month, and we encourage you to participate in one of our many outdoor activities in WildWoods and Fernbank Forest! Whether it’s going for a casual stroll to see Spirit Guides: Fantastical Creatures from the Workshop of Jacobo and María Ángeles or following one of our educators on a guided hike, there’s something for everyone at Fernbank.
