Fernbank Museum is conveniently located east of Midtown, near Emory University at the corner of Ponce de Leon Avenue and Clifton Road.

Parking
Parking is free, but space is limited. Additional parking is available on S. Ponce De Leon Avenue (see map). Parking is not permitted on Clifton Road. On weekends and holidays, we recommend allowing extra time to park and make your way to the museum.

Directions by Car

From Interstates 75 and 85
Take exit 248C John Lewis Freedom Parkway (GA 10 East) near downtown Atlanta. Go 1.7 miles to Ponce de Leon Avenue and turn right. Go 1.7 miles to Clifton Road and take a left; the museum entrance will be on your right.

From Interstate 20
Take exit 60B for US-23 N/Moreland Avenue. Continue 2 miles and take a right on Ponce De Leon Avenue. Take a left on Clifton Road; the museum entrance will be on your right.

From Interstate 285/Highway 78
Go west on Highway 78 and merge onto Lawrenceville Highway (GA 29). Note: This road changes names several times and will eventually become Ponce de Leon Avenue. Once you reach an arched stone overpass go 1 mile to Clifton Road and turn right; the museum entrance will be on your right.

Directions by MARTA 

Beginning on April 18, 2026, MARTA will implement route changes as part of their NextGen Bus Network redesign. Please note, the MARTA bus stops along Ponce de Leon Ave. that are currently used will no longer be in service as of April 18, 2026. 

MARTA is launching a new on-demand service that will take riders from place-to-place within the location’s geographic area.  

Go north/south to Five Points Station and take the eastbound train to the Edgewood/Candler Park Station. Using a smartphone, download the MARTA Reach app and create an account to request a ride. A MARTA Reach van will arrive within 30 minutes to take you from the station to Fernbank.
