Sunday, March 2, 2025 4:30 PM — 5:30 PM

Frances Wood Wilson Foundation Theater, 1st Floor

On Frozen Ground Down Under: Polar Dinosaurs, Insects and Other Cretaceous Fossils of Australia

Dr. Anthony Martin, Professor of Practice, Department of Environmental Sciences, Emory University

The Cretaceous Period (140-66 million years ago) was one of the warmest times in Earth’s history, which allowed dinosaurs, birds, amphibians, insects and other animals to live near the North and South Poles. Dr. Martin will discuss the Cretaceous polar ecosystems of Australia, when it was still attached to Antarctica, and share the latest fossil discoveries and the remarkable stories they tell of how life adapted to polar environments.

Presented in conjunction with the special exhibit Ultimate Dinosaurs.
