Love is on the Brain at Fernbank After Dark
February is fast approaching, and so is Valentine’s Day. For some this may be a time of splendor and romance and for others a time to enjoy a night out with friends. If you are looking for things to do in Atlanta for Valentine’s Day, romantic or not, we have a great idea! Fernbank After Dark is a great night out for couples, singles and groups with access to the full museum, the new Spiders: From Fear to Fascination exhibit, the immersive outdoor WildWoods: AGLOW experience, hands-on science activities, live music, and food and drinks available for purchase.
The Valentine’s-themed Fernbank After Dark: Love on the Brain is hosted on Friday, Feb. 9, 2024, from 7 p.m. - 11 p.m. Guests can come and explore the science behind love and heartbreak!
This night will be filled with science experiments and activities that display the curious facts of how our senses play into attractions and dislikes. Below are some activities to look forward to:
- Learn how human brains perceive love, lust and attraction through our senses.
- Venture to the STEAM Lab to learn about love zaps and electric love.
- Test your romance comedy knowledge with jeopardy and even take a love language quiz to find out what actions make your heart skip a beat.
- Put a pair of gloves on and get up close and personal with an animal brain.
And there’s still so much more to do!
Several activities will be located on each level of the museum as well as after-hours access to all our exhibits including the new special exhibit: Spiders – From Fear to Fascination. Guests will come eye-to- eyes with over 250 live and preserved spider specimens in this interactive exhibit. After it’s done you will gain a web of knowledge about spider anatomy, reproduction and growth, webs and silk, spider senses, and ultimately leave fascinated by these often-misunderstood arachnids.
This will also be the last Fernbank After Dark where there will be access to the captivating lights of WildWoods: AGLOW.

Rosé French 75
Ingredients include:
3 oz sparkling rosé
1 oz gin
0.5 oz lemon juice
0.5 oz simple syrup
Directions:
Add gin, lemon juice, and simple syrup to a shaker with ice and shake until well-chilled. Strain into a champagne flute and top with sparkling rosé. Garnish with a lemon twist and serve.
This cocktail will be available for purchase at Fernbank After Dark along with other specialty cocktails.
