Celebrate the ROAR, White and Blue at Fernbank this July

The year is halfway over, and Fernbank is entering July with a bang, pop and fizz! Boasting an Olympic-sized roster of exhibits, events, films, programming and more, Fernbank is the place to be this summer.

A MIRROR-ACULOUS MAZE — The special exhibit, A Mirror Maze: Numbers in Nature, is in full swing at Fernbank. Discover fun digital components, captivating objects and the crown jewel of the exhibit: a 1,700 square-foot mirror maze. Learn more here.

AFTER-HOURS AWESOMENESS — Curious what Fernbank is like at night? You can find out when you attend one of our after-hours events! Join us on Friday, July 12 for Fernbank After Dark: On the Rocks (21+ only) or Friday, July 26 for Fernbank... but Later: Creature Quest (all ages).

A TEENAGE DREAM — Calling all teens! From 6 – 9 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, our teenage attendees can attend Teen Takeover, an evening specifically for teens and led by Fernbank’s teen volunteers and educators. Learn more about the event here.

A SSSSPECTACULAR SHINDIG — Mark your calendars for Saturday, July 20 when we slither into Reptile Day! Stop by between 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. to meet some scaly, slimy critters and discover exciting activities. Learn more here.

FANTASTIC FOREST FRIENDS — Take a stroll through WildWoods this month and walk alongside 18 larger-than-life sculptures in Forest Forms! Then, when you’re wanting to continue your adventure, here are a few suggestions:

Alice’s Wonderland Returns | 4.6 miles from Fernbank

o Go down the rabbit hole and discover Alice’s Wonderland at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens! See classic characters like Alice, the Cheshire Cat and the Queen of Hearts in this whimsical outdoor exhibit. Ticket prices vary.

Butterfly Encounter | 23 miles from Fernbank

o Get up close and personal with hundreds of butterflies in this summertime staple at the Chattahoochee Nature Center! Take pictures with the butterflies, then purchase supplies to start your own butterfly garden. Ticket prices vary.

Westside BeltLine 5K – 8K | 8 miles from Fernbank

o Sign up for a 5K or 8K and run along the historic BeltLine! This race on July 20 is the perfect opportunity to explore the BeltLine and the art and nature found along its trail. Sign-up prices vary.

Fernbank is a nonprofit natural history museum, giant screen theater and old-growth forest, and is not affiliated with Fernbank Science Center, which operates as a division of DeKalb County Schools.
