Fear Factor at Fernbank After Dark
Looking for things to do in Atlanta on Friday nights? Check out our upcoming Fernbank After Dark: Fear Factor event on Friday, June 14, 2024, at 7-11 p.m.
Only one rule: Leave the kids at home, only adults are allowed!
Calling all thrill seekers and those that love to support from the sidelines! Are you ready to have fun and be scared - wait is that even possible? We welcome you to embark on a journey into your brain and hopefully out of your fears.
Have you ever watched tv shows like Survivor and Fear Factor and wondered how do these people do it? I mean, of course, a million dollars, but how do they do it? Do they just one day decide not to fear something or do they chase adrenaline rushes or are they an overall remarkable person that has little to no fears? Fernbank After Dark invites guests to explore the science behind fear and discover if it really is mind over matter.
A few activities to look forward to:
- Demonstrate your bravery and write out the fears you plan to rid yourself of on our “lose your fear” resolution board.
- Test your fears through a few sensory demonstrations such as touching a brain, a fake hand demonstration and discovering what's inside our mystery box.
- Take a phobia quiz and see if you can name the most common phobias.
- Journey to the conference room on the third level of the museum to check out our bug tasting activity. Don’t worry, this won’t be the only food served!

Get lost and find fun in our new special exhibit A Mirror Maze: Numbers in Nature. This exhibit features a 1,700 square feet mirror maze for guests to explore and is fully immersive. It will expose your brain to the various mathematical patterns in the natural world. After this exhibit, you will never look at the world the same way again.
Food and themed specialty cocktails will be available for purchase, as well as access to our museum-wide exhibits and outdoor special exhibit, Flora Fauna & Flight. Live music will be provided by Rare Birds, an original, retro-inspired rock and soul band.

Fernbank After Dark is a 21+ event only and IDs will be checked at the door.
