February Brings the Heat to Fernbank
This February boasts dino-mite exhibits, events, films and more at Fernbank!
A FEW MORE MAGICAL NIGHTS — WildWoods: AGLOW is only open a few more nights through to Feb. 23. Explore the native flora and fauna of WildWoods through a blend of the real environment and glowing displays for a nighttime adventure you won’t forget.
BONE DEEP — Now open on the third floor is X-Ray Vision: Fish Inside Out, where you can peek beneath the scales and see how aquatic species have adapted over time through beautifully detailed x-rays.
A NEW HOPE — Catch the newest film in the Giant Screen Theater, Desert Elephants, and see how baby elephant Little Foot and her herd survive the harsh Namib Desert in Africa, instilling a sense of renewed hope for these creatures in audiences.
FALL IN LOVE — This month, Fernbank After Dark’s got you covered for Valentine’s Day plans. Fernbank After Dark x WildWoods: AGLOW: I’m Wild About You is from 7 – 11 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 14 and a perfect outing for couples and friends, alike.
AN ULTIMATE EXHIBIT — Starting Feb. 8, you can explore the bizarre and fascinating dinosaur species that evolved in isolation in South America, Africa and Madagascar in our newest exhibit, Ultimate Dinosaurs! Then, when you’re looking for more dino-mite events, check out the ideas here.
- Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live | 5 miles from Fernbank
- Featuring the terrifying Mega Wrex and the brand new Skelesaurus, see these dinosaurs and other creatures during Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live on Feb. 1 or Feb. 2. Ticket prices vary.
- Jurassic Quest | 15 miles from Fernbank
- Make pter-iffic memories at Jurassic Quest, a family-friendly dino event that features playing with baby dinosaurs, excavating fossils or even training a raptor while being surrounded by dinosaurs like a Spinosaurus or a T. rex. Event is from Feb. 21 – 23, and ticket prices vary.
- Winter Break at Tellus Science Museum | 50 miles from Fernbank
- During the week of Feb. 17, the Tellus Museum will have “live” dinosaurs from Prehistoric Nation to entertain during each day. This is included with the museum’s regular admission.
Fernbank is a nonprofit natural history museum, giant screen theater and old-growth forest, and is not affiliated with Fernbank Science Center, which operates as a division of DeKalb County Schools.
