Field Trip Prices and Policies

Special field trip pricing is available for pre-K through 12^th grade public and private schools, day cares and home-schooled groups (with a letter of intent). On-site field trip prices listed below are valid for groups of 10 or more with a minimum 48-hour advance reservation. Virtual programming options are available. Special pricing is also available for noneducation groups.

On-site Prices and Ticket Options

Education Admission includes all museum exhibits, Wildwoods, Fernbank Forest and a film in the Giant Screen Theater or a field trip program. *

Film times are posted at the Box Office and the theater entrance daily. Proceed to the theater entrance for admission (no separate ticket necessary). Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Field Trip Programs require a two-week advanced reservation and are available August–May. Contact our field trip team at 404.929.6320 for more information.  

Virtual School Program Prices

**Prices do not include tax. Exempted organizations must submit a copy of your Georgia State tax exemption form prior to your visit. 

***Please Note: All times are estimates and do not include breaks between activities, lunch, store visits or travel time to/from Fernbank. Add 30 minutes to one hour if you wish to tour Fernbank Forest. Program lengths vary by grade level.

Chaperone Field Trip Prices

Adult chaperones are given complimentary admission on a ratio of one adult to 10 students. Additional adults included in the field trip reservation are admitted at a discounted rate. Persons not included in the reservation must purchase tickets online at individual admission rates on a space-available basis. Field Trip Programs are not available for same-day purchase. Bus drivers receive complimentary admission on a 1 adult to 40 student ratio. Please include the number of bus drivers in your reservation and final head count at check in. If your group has fewer than 10 students, adults must pay individual admission rates.

For a safe and enjoyable field trip experience, please adhere to the following policies during your visit to Fernbank. We reserve the right to ask any disorderly guest to leave the campus. Under those circumstances, refunds will not be given.

Lunch Information

Fernbank has limited space available for schools to eat lunch. School groups are encouraged to have lunch after leaving Fernbank’s campus.

Order Lunch: To order lunch through the Fernbank Café, submit a completed form at least two weeks prior to your visit.

Bringing Your Lunch: Brown bagged lunches should be stored on the bus or under the staircase on the 1st floor of the museum. Groups are responsible for their own food quality. Fernbank will not supply coolers, ice or food prep areas. Restaurant food delivery is prohibited.

Where to Eat: Your group may enjoy lunch picnic style on the front lawn or Dinosaur Plaza. We ask that you do not sit on the front steps. No food or drink (other than water) is permitted in WildWoods or Fernbank Forest. Groups are responsible for their own clean up. Please dispose of all trash/recyclable materials in the containers provided.

Museum Store

Schedule time in your itinerary to visit the Museum Store. Students can discover fun and educational souvenirs like fossils, magnets, science books and kits. Students can enter in groups of 10 at a time with a chaperone. Credit/debit cards and mobile pay are the only forms of payment accepted.
