STEM learning doesn’t stop with the school year! Explore science, technology, engineering and mathematics with a hands-on twist at this family event.

With soil and seeds, build a mini greenhouse and watch your garden grow.

Shaving Cream Rain Clouds
Discover precipitation in this eye-catching experiment.

Nature Walk
1pm, Kendeda Pavilion
Weather-permitting; first-come, first-served
Get a closer look at nature in WildWoods and Fernbank Forest during this hour-long guided program.


Build a Sundial
Learn how time was told before the invention of watches and clocks.

Platonic Solids
Construct colorful geometric shapes with straws and pipe cleaners.


Binary Bracelets
Use the language of computers to create a bracelet featuring your initials.

Robot Blocks
Mix and match robot blocks to create a life-size bionic buddy.


Paper Airplane Challenge
Engineer a paper airplane to discover the design that flies the furthest.

Spaghetti Bridges
Explore civil engineering by building a bridge with spaghetti and marshmallows.

Dream Big
11am, 1pm, Fernbank’s Giant Screen Theater
Take a journey of discovery from the world’s tallest building to a bridge higher than the clouds in this giant screen film.

Cost: Special activities included with Museum admission and free for members. Separate ticket purchase required for film admission.
