Fall Camp: Armored Animals

November 25-27,2024

Discover Armored Animals this fall! From incredible invertebrate exoskeletons to mighty vertebrate shells, Campers, ages 5-10, will engage in exciting hands-on exploration and even delve into the fascinating world of human armor.  Alongside Fernbank educators, campers will play games, create crafts, and learn with exciting, hands-on activities.

Camps include games, activities, and crafts centered around the theme of each day:

• Invertebrate Day: Campers will bug out while exploring fascinating invertebrate species and their bodies. Activities may include an invertebrate animal encounter, caterpillar keychains, and log flipping!
• Vertebrate Day: Bone Voyage! Campers will dig deep into the world of vertebrates and their skeletal secrets. Activities may include making your own bird wing and snake animal encounter!
• Human Armor Day: Armor up! Campers will explore the engineering wonders and rich history of human armor. Activities may include animal armor relay races, paper plate shields, and a turtle animal encounter!

Specific activities are subject to change without notice.

Ages: STEAM Camp is available for ages 5-10. Your camper must be within this range by the first day of camp.

Registration: Registration opens Monday, September 30 at 12 p.m. EST.

Cost: $200

for members; $250 for non-members.

Hours: Fernbank’s STEAM Camp runs Monday through Wednesday from 9am to 4pm.

Pre-Care: Pre-Care is available from 8:15 am to 9:00am and costs $10 per day or $25 for the week. Only full-week Pre-Care registration is available online. Single-day Pre-Care registration will be available on-site during camp.

After-Care: After-Care is available from 4:00pm to 5:30pm and costs $10 per day or $25 for the week. Only full-week After-Care registration is available online. Single-day After-Care registration will be available on-site during camp.

Cancellation Policy:

• All registrations include a $50 non-refundable fee.  Cancellations made prior to November 11, 2024 will receive a refund that does not include the $50 non-refundable fee. After November 11, 2024, no refunds will be issued.
• If minimum enrollment is not met, we reserve the right to cancel a camp session and issue a full refund.
• There are no partial refunds for missed camp days
• Refunds will not be given for campers who miss camp days due to illness, including COVID.
