Tidings of Culture and Joy 

Enjoy a season of celebrations during Fernbank’s annual Winter Wonderland: Celebrations & Traditions Around the World. This holiday-inspired exhibit features trees and other displays decorated by local cultural partners that recognize celebrations including Christmas and Hanukkah, as well as traditions and practices like indigenous art and national symbols, located on Entry and Upper Levels. Winter Wonderland also features iconic winter themes in giant “snow globe” scenes located outdoors.

New Outdoor Experiences 

Snow Globes Walk among six giant (some up to 7 feet tall) decorated snow globes highlighted the best of the holidays, including sledding, gingerbread houses, New Year’s Eve and more. Located within WildWoods, free with admission. 

Sock Skating Rink Skip the skates and enjoy a wintertime tradition not often experienced in the south. Located on the Terrace, free with admission.  

Companion Exhibit 

68 Voces / Voices  is an animated artistic series, narrated in 68 Mexican indigenous languages, highlighting the cultural treasures and heritage behind the tales of an indigenous community rich in traditions that celebrate diversity.  

Admission to Winter Wonderland and related experiences is included with general museum admission and FREE for members.

Holiday Hours: Fernbank Museum will be closed Thursday, November 26 for Thanksgiving and Friday, December 25 for Christmas. The Giant Screen Theater is open weekends and during major holiday breaks.
