Suit up for Fernbank’s Armored Animals Day in celebration of our special exhibit, Armored Animals! Step into the fascinating world of armor as you meet our animal ambassadors, explore the evolution of adaptations over time, unleash your creativity with an engineering challenge and more.

It’s time to suit up! Show off your creativity by designing your very own armor.
Vertebrates vs. Invertebrates | Great Hall, 1st Floor
Which animals have a backbone? Test your knowledge with this sorting game to find out!
Owl Pellet Exploration | Great Hall, 1st Floor
Discover what owls eat by dissecting owl pellets and identifying the leftover bones.
Amphibian Foundation | Great Hall, 1st Floor
Meet a snapping turtle and a variety of armored reptiles and amphibians at this scaly spot.

Join a Fernbank educator for a presentation featuring armor-clad members of our live animal collection.

Choose a favorite schleich® toy and use your imagination to tell a story about armored animals. All kids who tell a story will receive a schleich® toy.

schleich® Make-and-Take Activity | Great Hall, 1st Floor | 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
schleich® animals, dinosaurs and unicorns can be used to make the most adorable bag tags. Join us to create a bag tag with a schleich® character to take on all your adventures!
Museum Store | 2nd Floor | 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
In celebration of Fernbank Museum becoming schleich®’s 100th flagship location, all schleich® products purchased at the Museum Store will receive a 20% discount.
*Activities are offered from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. unless otherwise noted and are subject to change without notice. Crafts are available while supplies last.
**Kids who share their stories will have the opportunity to be featured on schleich®’s social channels, featured in a schleich® commercial and even receive a schleich® toy!
