Summer Science Fest: Bugs & Insects

Countdown to the final days of summer with Fernbank’s Summer Science Fest. Enjoy a line-up of themed experiences on select Saturdays, highlighting some of our favorite natural history subjects.

Bug out with us and discover the amazing world of bugs and insects.

Activities: 

  • Wear your favorite bug or insect attire, whether butterfly wings, a bumblebee costume, or dress like a superhero character, like Antman, the Wasp or Spiderman
  • Enjoy a fun bug-themed story time, 11am and 12:30pm
  • Meet some bug and insect critters during Invertebrate animal encounters, 10:30am and 12:45pm
  • See who has checked into Fernbank’s Bug Hotels in the Nature Gallery
  • Investigate Fernbank’s bug collection under a microscope, 11:45am and 1:30pm
  • Play Bug Bingo and search for real bugs that live all around WildWoods
  • Take a peek beneath the surface in Fernbank Forest to see what critters live in the soil 
  • Stop by the Museum Store for a special Bug Pack for $15 each, while supplies last 

Cost: Included with museum admission. Members FREE.

Space is limited and advance online ticket reservations are required for members and non-members.
