Children's and Family Programs
HOLLY JOLLY FILM FEST
Saturdays, November 30 – December 21 from 10am - 2pm
NEW! See some of your favorite holiday specials in Fernbank’s auditorium theatre. Guests will also enjoy holiday-themed crafts and activities and a chance to take a picture with the holly-jollyest dino of them all, Santa-saurus.
Offered at noon on the second Saturday of each month, September-May
Join us in Fernbank NatureQuest for exciting tales about the natural world with Rob Cleveland, Fernbank's storyteller-in-residence. This program is suitable for children ages 3 and up.
Weekends in the Naturalist Center
Enjoy a variety of family-friendly activities every weekend in the Naturalist Center. Activities vary from animal encounters to science explorations and more, and will be available every weekend. Check the activity sign when you arrive to see what's happening. Included with Museum admission. Free for members.
SPECIAL SALSA DANCE NIGHT
Friday, December 20 from 6:30pm – 11pm
Martinis & IMAX® normally takes a break in December, but will be back for one night only for a special Salsa Dance Night. Guests will also be able to enjoy evening viewing hours of Winter Wonderland and Marco Polo: Man & Myth.
Salsa DANCE Night
Every 3rd Friday during Martinis & IMAX® from 6:30pm – 11pm
Monthly Salsa Dance Nights bring Salsambo Dance Studio to Martinis & IMAX®, offering incredible opportunities to enjoy Latin dancing (or appreciating the dance skills of others) with early-evening lessons for those who want a little practice before they heat up the dance floor. A special guest DJ provides the rhythmic beats. Standard Martinis & IMAX® ticket prices apply.
Marco Polo, Crusaders and Mongols: A Tale of Accidental Tourism
Sunday, November 3 at 3pm
Join us as Dr. J. Maxwell Miller describes the geopolitical landscape that Marco Polo encountered and how it affected his travels along the Silk Road.
