Sunday Snow Days
Join us the second Sunday of each month (July through December) for a day of family fun celebrating Ends of the Earth: From Polar Bears to Penguins. Enjoy free treats, crafts, hands-on activities, special film screenings and more!
Grandparents Day
Sunday, September 7 from noon to 3 p.m.
Celebrate National Grandparents’ Day with a special Sunday agenda involving family-friendly activities, take-home souvenirs, a scavenger hunt and more. Grandparents, we’ll make you feel like a kid again! For this special activity day, grandparents pay kids prices for Museum or Value Pass tickets; and grandparents that are current Museum members save $1 off IMAX® tickets.*
Cost: All Grandparents Day activities are included with Museum admission and are free for members.
*Museum and Value Pass ticket limit 2 per person. Member IMAX® ticket limit 6 per member. Grandchild must be present. Offers not valid with any other discount. Valid 9/7/08 only.
Fernbank Forest® Family Walk
Saturday, October 11 from 10 a.m. to noon
Explore Fernbank Forest is a 65-acre undisturbed, mature mixed hardwood forest, with Museum scientists. Discover why leaves change color in fall, practice identifying trees by their leaves or bark, and search for the oldest trees in the Forest. Includes refreshments, a tree-themed craft and a live animal encounter.
Cost: Members: $7; non-members: $12; children 3 and under: free. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Registration and payment deadline is October 3. Space is limited. To reserve your space, call 404.929.6379 or e-mail programs@fernbank.edu.
Bugs, Bats and Bones Day
A Fernbank Family Fun Day
Saturday, October 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Discover what’s cool about Halloween with kooky (not spooky!) entertainment and hands-on activities investigating bugs, bats and bones.
Cost: Included with Museum admission. Free for members.
Cub Scout Day
Saturday, November 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Join us for a special day for Cub Scouts. Explore the Museum, discuss science careers with scientists, enjoy live animal encounters and more. Don’t forget to download special Scout activities before your visit.
Cost: Included with Museum admission. Free for members. Scouts in uniform receive $6 off a child’s Museum admission ticket. (Offer valid 11/8/08 only. Limit one per Scout in uniform. Applies to full-priced Museum tickets only.)
Annual Family Holiday Event
A Fernbank Family Fun Day
Sunday, December 7 from noon to 5 p.m.
Ring in the holiday season with traditional and artic-themed activities. This popular family day includes performances, crafts, storytelling and more, inspired by the special exhibition Ends of the Earth: From Polar Bears to Penguins.
Cost: Included with Museum admission. Free for members.
