at Fernbank’s Martinis & IMAX®
Extended Hours and Special Ticket Price for
“Ends of the Earth: From Polar Bears to Penguins” on Friday Nights
For those looking to find a hot night on the town with a cool vibe, Fernbank Museum of Natural History may just have the answer. Fernbank’s Martinis & IMAX® presented by Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. is offering extended hours for the special exhibition Ends of the Earth: From Polar Bears to Penguins as well as special ticket pricing.
Martinis & IMAX® is a staple of sophisticated Atlanta nightlife, featuring live music, specialty cocktails, delicious dining options, dancing, and more—all in an after-hours museum setting beneath the world’s largest dinosaurs. The Museum offers screenings of the world’s largest film format in the IMAX® Theatre, which utilizes a five-story screen to immerse audiences in the movie.
Ends of the Earth: From Polar Bears to Penguins will be available for Friday evening viewing through August 29, 2008 from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. (last entry at 9:15 p.m.). The exhibition explores the fascinating and frozen worlds of the North and South Poles through a combination of hands-on interactives, artifacts, specimens and multimedia experiences, including a recreation of a polar camp, trivia games, video, current research, and penguin and polar bear specimens.
Visitors can keep things cool in the IMAX® Theatre, where three films are currently offered: Antarctica (through January 2, 2009), Alaska: Sprit of the Wild (through August 22, 2008), and Wild Ocean (through November 14, 2008)
Tickets to Martinis & IMAX® are $15 and include an IMAX® film and cover charge. Visitors can add a ticket to Ends of the Earth: From Polar Bears to Penguins for only $3 (totaling $18). Or those who choose not to see a film pay only $10 for the exhibition, which also includes the cover charge. Members pay $10 for IMAX® admission and receive free entry to Ends of the Earth: From Polar Bears to Penguins.
