Enhance your field trip experience with a unique school program taught by Fernbank Museum educators. Programs are available Mondays-Fridays for grades K-12. Group minimum for outdoor programs is 15 students and for auditorium programs is 25 students. All programs are correlated to Georgia Standards of Excellence.
Auditorium programs include active discussion, fun visuals, live specimens and artifacts (where appropriate) and last between 40 to 50 minutes. Each program has a minimum of 25 and maximum of 100-150 students per session.
Outdoor Programs include a guided nature walk, biofacts and hands-on activities and last 50 minutes for elementary schools and 90 minutes for middle and high schools. Each program has a minimum of 15 and a maximum of 32 students per session.
Lab Study Programs are hands-on investigations of the subject matter. These classes are station, rotation-style classes and last 50 minutes. Students will visit 5-6 different stations with activities related to the content. Lab Study Programs require a minimum of 15 students with a maximum of 32 students per class.
