IMAX® Attendant

Position Objectives
To provide excellent customer service by welcoming visitors to the IMAX® Theatre and reviewing visitor tickets.

Responsibilities

  • Greet each visitor with a smile
  • Examine each visitor's ticket and make sure visitors are attending correct film
  • Handle the special needs of disabled guests or guests with infants
  • Review sales receipt of school groups; assist teachers with seating students
  • Open/close exit doors in sync with film and direct guests to appropriate entry/exit doors
  • Coordinate with fellow volunteers to be sure the volunteer stations remain covered while individuals take breaks 
  • Work with Security to monitor and correct any disruptive behavior in theatre
  • Answer general questions regarding Museum events, exhibitions, and facilities

Qualifications/Expectations

  • Friendly and customer service-oriented personality
  • Able to stand for a significant portion of a four-hour shift
  • Comfortable working in a busy environment
  • Appears as scheduled for shift and maintains an accurate record of hours volunteered
  • Possesses or is willing to gain a general knowledge of the Museum
  • Adheres to volunteer dress code and follows Museum policies and procedures
