Notice: Fernbank Museum will open at 11am on Sunday, April 30 so that we may honor our volunteers during a private special event.
Fernbank Forest is home to a large variety of plants, including dozens of native wildflowers. The yearly wildflowers display peaks in the spring, filling the forest with vibrant blooms of color. In February and March, sunlight streams through the canopy while trees are still leafless, coaxing the ephemeral wildflowers up from beneath the surface of the soil.
While March and April are often the highlight of spring wildflower season, the forest generally has at least one species blooming February through November. You’re likely to see something new each time you visit!
