Some of the most beautiful roses to ever bloom can be found in the Robert L. Staton Memorial Rose Garden at Fernbank Museum.
Nearly 1,500 roses blossom into a palette of vibrant colors from early spring through late fall, showcasing an assortment of named rose species and new rose varieties tested by the American Rose Society (ARS) and All-American Rose Selections (AARS).
Named for rose enthusiast Robert L. Staton and maintained by Fernbank Science Center horticulturists, the rose garden is open during daylight hours and is free to the public. Staton, who first established the rose garden in 1983, developed it out of his love of roses, his desire to educate the public and his expertise with Atlanta’s rose-growing climate.
The enchanting beauty of the rose garden is enjoyed by rose lovers and gardening novices alike and has contributed the perfectly romantic setting for a number of blissful wedding proposals.
Visit Fernbank Science Center for more information.
