Summer Camp 2014

Your registration for Fernbank Museum’s Summer Camp is almost complete. Please follow this link to submit your payment and reserve your spot. You may also wish to print out the information below for your records. Please allow at least 3 business days for your registration to be processed.

We are excited your child will be a part of Fernbank Museum's 2014 Summer Camp! Below are a few pointers and guidelines to help you make the most of your week at camp. More information will be mailed to you closer to the date of camp. Please call 404.929.6341 in the meantime if you need any additional information.

How does drop-off/pick-up work?
Summer Camp activities will begin at 9am and conclude at 1pm for Junior Naturalists or 2pm for Discovery Team and Science Squad. Children may arrive at the Museum as early as 8:45am. A Summer Camp staff member will be waiting in the lobby. Please walk your child in and sign him or her in with the camp staff. If you arrive after 9:15am, you will need to walk your child upstairs to the Naturalist Center to connect with the group. Camper pick-up is in the Rose Garden parking lot (P1) at the end of camp (a map will be provided). Campers should be picked up no later than 15 minutes past the end of camp. If your child is registered for AfterCare, pick-up will be in the museum lobby at 5pm. Early AfterCare pick-up is available in the Naturalist Center between 3pm and 3:30pm.

What information should I supply to the Museum?
We will send a form before the start of camp for you to provide information regarding emergency contacts, allergies and medications. Please fill out this form and bring it with you on the first day of camp. In order to ensure all our campers have the best experience possible, please inform us ahead of time of any special needs which we need to accommodate.

What should I send with my child?

  • Lunch every day!  We take a lunch break around 11:30am each day (time varies by age). Please pack appropriately. Also send a snack if your child is staying for AfterCare.
  • Comfortable shoes/water bottle—especially important on Forest Day
  • Old shirt or smock for painting (This is optional; we use kid-friendly craft supplies)

Please label all items with your child’s name.

What will camp provide?
Wonderful activities! A weekly schedule will be available on the first day of camp. Activities will include science lessons, games, arts & crafts, live animals, outside exploration and lots of fun. Summer Camp will incorporate Museum exhibitions, IMAX ®films and Fernbank Forest.
