Fernbank Museum recognizes the unique nature of homeschool groups and is pleased to be able to offer the following options based on group size. All groups, regardless of size, are encouraged to take advantage of special free downloadable resources. Available resources include scavenger hunts, curriculum correlations for exhibitions and films, coloring sheets and more.
Options for Smaller Groups
Less than 10 students
This option is best suited for homeschoolers visiting as a family or small group of less than 10 students. Explore the Museum’s permanent and special exhibitions at your own pace, see an IMAX® film and enjoy a special discount on student tickets. Smaller homeschool groups are invited to participate in special programming offered on select weekends, including family activity days, live animal encounters, and more.
Cost: Standard field trips rates apply for students and regular non-group prices apply for adults.*
*Prices valid for groups of less than 10 students. Reduced student pricing valid with 48 hour advance reservations only. Homeschools must present a State Letter of Intent to qualify for reduced educational rates.
Immerse your child in a special day of hands-on learning adventures during Fernbank’s Homeschool Days, featuring educator-led programs designed for different grade levels. You can also enjoy a chance to socialize with other homeschool parents, experience the special exhibition or see an IMAX® film (additional ticket).

Options for Larger Groups
10 or more students
This option is best suited for large homeschool groups with 10 or more students. Explore the Museum’s permanent and special exhibitions at your own pace, see an IMAX® film and enjoy a special discount on both student and adult tickets.
Cost: Standard field trips rates apply for students. One chaperone for every 10 students receives free admission. Regular group prices apply for additional adults.*

Homeschool groups with more than 25 students are welcome to book any of our auditorium programs, provided that program capacity and grade level requirements are met. These educator-led programs include active discussion, fun visuals, live specimens and more, and are correlated to Georgia Performance Standards. Cost: Standard field trip prices apply.
