Opening Celebration

You’re invited to a celebration of the grand opening of Fernbank’s newest special exhibition The Scoop on Poop. It’s the #1 exhibit about #2!

Scheduled Activities*

Inflatable Alligator Slide
9am – 12:30pm, Dinosaur Entrance Plaza (line closes at Noon**)
Slide through this whimsical alligator before you see its real-life counterparts in Fernbank NatureQuest. (Parental supervision required. Line closes at 12pm)

The Scoop on Poop
Self-guided
Listen in on a bear's digestive system, learn the language of poop in countries around the world, examine fecal samples in a veterinarian's lab, compete in dung beetle races, track wild animals by clues left in scat and more!

Scat Around the Museum
Self-guided
Use this guide (located on the back of your program) to discover scat-based activities in Fernbank’s permanent exhibitions.

Enjoy kid friendly entertainment the whole family can enjoy.

Make Your Own Scat
10am – 2pm, Great Hall
Carnivore? Herbivore? Create your own craft and explore more about what’s left in the scat of a variety of animals.

Live Animal Encounters
11am, 1pm, 2pm The Scoop on Poop Theatre
Get up close and personal with members of Fernbank’s live animal collection as we discover what they leave behind.
